Ginger runs for disability in Lyon

Six teams of the Group Ginger left the starting line on Thursday, June 9th, for the 12th edition of the United Course Solidaire Interentreprise de Lyon. This event, organized by Special Olympics France, donates all proceeds collected to the association, which campaigns for the recognition and social fulfilment of people living with intellectual disability.

A total of 53 teams (representing 212 participants) competed in a 4 x 2.5 km relay race at Parc Gerland in Lyon. Three Ginger CEBTP teams and three BURGEAP teams of 4 people competed in this race. Team 2 of BURGEAP managed to reach fourth place in the standings.

The Special Olympics association is the first worldwide organization devoted to enriching lives of those with a mental disability through competitive sports. 150 sports events are organized in France, allowing 20,000 competitors with mental disability to compete alongside able-bodies athletes.
