Biosaine project: polluted sites and biomass production for energy

Biosaine: an R&D project, coordinated by Ginger BURGEAP, aimed at the re-functionalization of soils moderately affected by pollution, with a view to the production of healthy biomass for energy use.
This involves upgrading a polluted industrial site in several key stages, from the characterisation of excavated land to the energy recovery of the biomass produced, through laboratory tests, the construction of a technosol and the monitoring of changes in environmental parameters (agro-pedological, pollution, biomass quality, yield performance).
It aims to propose a methodological framework for project holders based on technical, scientific and socio-economic indicators with expected operational support using alternative management techniques, such as the valuation of land excavated in situ and phytomanagement.
