Ginger Group acquires A-Corros, a leading expert in corrosion diagnostics and heritage conservation

Ginger Group, an independent leader in specialty engineering, today announces the official acquisition of A-Corros, an engineering consultancy specializing in corrosion assessment and protection for all types of metallic heritage assets, and also a conservation-restoration laboratory for metallic objects, based in Arles.

Founded in 2007, A-Corros has established itself as a key partner in France and internationally for the study, diagnosis, and treatment of historic, industrial, and underwater metallic structures.

By combining materials science with the requirements of archaeology and Historic Monuments preservation, the Arles-based company works on projects as varied as 19th-century bridges, naval heritage, complex industrial structures, and fine art statuary, providing diagnostic, design, and restoration services.

Advanced Technical Expertise and Growth Potential
By joining Ginger, A-Corros now gains access to the development capabilities and nationwide network of a major group, enabling it to take on projects of national and international scale.

Statement from Jean-Bernard Memet, Chairman of A-Corros:
"Joining Ginger Group represents a tremendous growth opportunity for the A-Corros teams. While preserving the scientific agility and spirit of innovation that have defined us for nearly twenty years, we now benefit from the firepower of an engineering leader to take our expertise to new horizons. This marks the beginning of a new momentum for our teams."

Clear Synergies for Complex Heritage and Industrial Projects
Through this acquisition, Ginger Group enhances its subsidiaries' offering — particularly in the assessment of existing structures and rehabilitation engineering — by integrating advanced predictive and corrective corrosion analysis capabilities. Corrosion remains one of the leading causes of degradation in metallic infrastructure.

Among the opportunities opened up by this partnership are:

  • Strengthened intervention capabilities for Historic Monuments, through enhanced expertise in the pathologies of puddled iron, cast iron, and bronze, with absolute respect for heritage materials.
  • Growth in the industrial brownfield redevelopment market, by supporting local authorities and industrial clients in site rehabilitation and the reuse of legacy steel structures.
  • Closer ties with the research community and strengthened scientific collaboration.

Statement from Philippe de Vivies, Managing Director of A-Corros:
"The acquisition of A-Corros fits fully within Ginger's strategy to strengthen its expertise in the heritage sector. It combines our engineering and structural diagnostic capabilities with recognized know-how in conservation-restoration and expertise in historic materials. This complementarity broadens our scope of intervention and strengthens our ability to offer a comprehensive, sustainable approach to heritage preservation."

Statement from Philippe Rabut, Chief Executive Officer of Ginger Group:
"We are delighted to welcome the A-Corros teams into Ginger Group. Their recognized expertise in complex corrosion challenges and their well-regarded work in the heritage and industrial sectors perfectly complement our technical DNA. Together, we will be able to offer our project owner clients ever more innovative solutions to extend the lifespan of their infrastructure and preserve our built heritage."
