Governance, education and health
_Among today's major challenges
of Official Development Assistance
Official Development Assistance (ODA) for education has reached a record level of US$16.3bn in 2022, or 7.5% of total development aid. Ginger SOFRECO's work in the Education, Vocational Training and Employment department is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, SDG 4 aims to ensure quality education for all, thereby promoting equal opportunities. The stakes are high, since more than 244 million children in the world still do not go to school (UNESCO, 2022). SDG 8 aims to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. The issue involves combatting youth unemployment, which can be as high as 20% in some African countries.
_Supporting all actors in the sector
The main actors in the sector are specialised international organisations such as UNESCO, UNICEF and the ILO, which work on the major strategic orientations. As service providers, consultancy firms such as Ginger SOFRECO provide specialised technical support for the implementation of major national or regional programmes, working alongside governments and line ministries.

_The expert's point of view
""The mission of Conseil Santé and Ginger International is to support ministries of health, public health operators and international funding agencies in implementing their policies and projects. The strength of our organisations lies in their human resources. Both companies have an experienced, multidisciplinary team (doctors, pharmacists, economists, etc.) that is responsive and provides support tailored to our clients’ specific needs, while drawing upon a global network of high-level decision-makers and managers in more than 100 emerging countries.
With this unique expertise, we are proud of our commitment to improving the health of people around the world. Ginger International also has an Energy/Environment department that draws on the know-how of the Group's in-house engineers.
This synergy between health and the environment puts us in a position to respond more effectively to the challenges of climate change and the new social, environmental and health issues. It also enables us to take the One Health and One Planet concepts into account, which require additional skills and specific high-level expertise."

_Participating in the development of regional and international standards
The sector is governed by regional and international standards that Ginger SOFRECO, through its missions, helps to build and strengthen in order to ensure the quality of teaching and learning. International recognition of diplomas and qualifications is a major issue for young people in the countries in which we operate.
