Environmental and social impact assessment for the Koudia Al Baïda wind farm repowering project

Ginger PHENIXA was commissioned to carry out the environmental and social impact assessment for repowering the 100 MW Koudia Al Baïda wind farm in accordance with Moroccan regulations and SFI and EBRD standards. The assessments included baseline studies of biodiversity (birds, bats, flora and fauna), the physical environment and the human environment. The impact assessment also included acoustic and stroboscopic modelling. Ginger PHENIXA was appointed to prepare the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and the Land Acquisition Plan.

Study of Taqa Morocco’s fly ash landfill

TAQA MOROCCO operates a large quarry for the disposal of fly ash from the Jorf Lasfar thermal power station. However, recurrent water infiltration problems were observed at the bottom of the quarry, with increasingly high flow rates. Ginger PHENIXA was contracted to carry out a hydrogeological assessment to understand where this water was coming from and what measures needed to be taken to continue the landfill operations. Ginger PHENIXA was also responsible for developing a storage operation plan for the years to come.

Energy audit for a cement plant in Morocco

The aim of this project was to carry out the technical mission summarised in the development of an energy review in compliance with the ISO 50 001 international standard. Ginger PHENIXA's teams conducted a baseline survey of the site, including a description of all the site's processes, drew up an energy flow diagram, carried out theoretical modelling of the plant’s electrical and thermal consumption, and made recommendations, backed up with figures and supporting information.

Environmental and social impact assessment for the extension of the Tahadart thermal power station

Ginger PHENIXA was commissioned to carry out an environmental and social impact assessment for the extension of the Tahadart combined cycle power plant. The extension will be fuelled by natural gas and have a capacity of 475 MW. The impact study was conducted in accordance with Moroccan regulations and international standards (SFI and EIB). It included an air quality modelling study and an acoustic modelling study for both the construction phase and the operational phase.

Independent geotechnical inspection of the superstructure of the Mohammed VI Tower in Rabat

The Ginger Group (Ginger MAROC and Ginger PHENIXA) was in charge of the G4 mission, the independent geotechnical inspection of the 250 metre high tower. A team of international and national experts carried out documentary analyses and on-site geotechnical and hydrogeological inspections. The inspection also covered the concrete superstructure and steel framework.
