Ginger DELEO has acquired Recovering, a pioneering engineering and consultancy firm specialising in the circular economy
Elancourt – On 14 November 2023, Ginger DELEO will acquire RECOVERING, a pioneer in the circular economy. This acquisition is an integral part of the growth strategy of the Ginger Group and its subsidiary Ginger DELEO. It will accelerate the company’s development and enable it to cover the entire circular economy value chain.
For more than 10 years, RECOVERING has been providing a wide range of services related to the re-use of materials and the prevention and management of waste from economic activities and the construction and public works sector. RECOVERING is involved in the development of recycling channels (gypsum, wood, glass, plastic, polystyrene and aggregates), training in the circular economy and a series of studies to identify material deposits and regional planning for the processing of construction and public works waste.
The company has built up a network of recognised partners and has gained the trust of major clients such as Métropole du Grand Lyon, Plaine Commune Grand Paris, the ADEME, RTE, SUEZ and a number of environmental organisations. RECOVERING also plays an active role in regulatory training for PEMD assessments (Produits, Équipements, Matériaux et Déchets – Products, Equipment, Materials and Waste) and is involved in various industry associations and organisations (SEDDRE – Union of Deconstruction, Pollution Control and Recycling Companies, CAPEB – Confederation of Crafts and Small Building Companies, and ECOSYTEM – a company specialising in the reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment).
The acquisition of RECOVERING is an opportunity for the Ginger Group and Ginger DELEO to strengthen their circular economy operations with 10 new employees, enabling them to expand across the country. This team will be able to draw on the experience of Ginger CEBTP’s building envelope materials and product analysis laboratories, as well as the expertise of the waste department, particularly in the reuse of excavated soil.
“We are delighted that RECOVERING is joining Ginger DELEO. It’s a great development that will allow us to offer a unique range of services, from sampling to material applications and construction site management, all in a sector that is essential for the future of our planet. This activity fits in perfectly with our values. This is an extremely valuable acquisition and one that meets the needs of our customers, as evidenced by the various joint projects and offerings that have been completed or that are currently being developed.” Frédéric Roux, CEO of Ginger DELEO.
Jean-Yves BURGY, Director of RECOVERING: “This is an important and relevant milestone for RECOVERING. I decided to join the Ginger Group in order to bring our expertise and experience to a major French engineering firm, where RECOVERING, through its circular economy division, will be able to retain its specific identity, expand its scope and draw on the strength of the Group to support its development. We have been working with the Ginger DELEO teams for a number of years. It is important that we complement each other to ensure the success of this new set-up. Together with its experts, RECOVERING will continue to provide its customers and partners with all its knowledge and experience.”
This move will allow Ginger DELEO to accelerate its growth in the circular economy, something that the company is strongly committed to. As a result, Ginger DELEO is set to exceed €13M in turnover and 100 employees by 2024, while strengthening its technical capabilities and human resources.

In response to concerns over climate change, Syntec-Ingénierie organised its action in 2019 by creating an engineering charter for the climate. In September 2024, Syntec-Ingénierie revised this charter to include the challenges of preserving and restoring biodiversity. Ginger, a member of Syntec-Ingénierie, was already a signatory in 2019 and is now pursuing its commitment to the climate and the preservation and restoration of biodiversity by signing the new charter.
Ginger celebrates its 90th birthday
It was an unforgettable day and evening in celebration of Ginger's 90th anniversary. A total of 1,500 employees from all over France and even further afield gathered at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris on Friday 17 November. A magnificent and historic venue, to celebrate this exceptional anniversary: 35 speakers on stage to retrace the history of the group, testify to its avant-garde spirit, highlight its values and talents, and outline the lines of our future. The event ended on a high note, with a circus show and a wonderful gala evening.
