Essential to ensuring competitiveness and growth, these investments encompass a diversified range of activities, numerous topics addressed by our R&D teams, the acquisition of cutting-edge technologies and equipment and employee training.

_Sophisticated testing: Magnitude test bed
- The only seismic test bed of its kind in Europe
- Research into the performance of structural and lightweight components used in the enclosure and roofing of buildings under seismic loads

_An R&D department
The Group has always had a proactive policy of developing research. To reinforce this policy, a Research & Development department was set up at the Group level in 2021. Through its projects and research, the R&D department contributes to the development of our methods and businesses. The services we provide regularly contribute to the development of new methods and tools to make our research more reliable and effective. All these advances are helping us to move towards sustainable development. Today, the R&D department consists of 20 engineers and several doctoral students. In 2023, Ginger's R&D teams were involved in some 50 projects in a dozen areas related to the environment (soil, inland and marine water, indoor and outdoor air), natural hazards, geotechnics, energy and materials.
_Contributing to the digitalisation of the geotechnical profession
For several years now, the geotechnical profession has been going digital. The Ginger Group is working to digitise geotechnical data, which can take many different forms ranging from geometric and geological data to physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics. Tools and software are being developed to facilitate the digitisation of data in the field or in the laboratory, its processing and storage in interoperable formats to facilitate geological and geotechnical models and reports. Ginger also participates in the national geotechnical database project and supports this digital evolution that is vital to the future of the geotechnical engineering profession.
_Terraïsto, an investment in a turnkey geothermal solution
Terraïsto was created by pooling the engineering and construction skills of the Ginger Group. Terraïsto works with its clients to heat and cool all types of buildings using the energy found naturally beneath our feet. Terraïsto offers the right geothermal solution for every project, from design to construction. This service is available for existing buildings of all types and sizes, whether new or refurbished.
